About

Kathryn Elisabeth Lovejoy

Born Boroko, Port Moresby, PAPUA NEW GUINEA, 14th November 1967

I am Australian, born in Papua New Guinea. I studied  for 10 years under the guidance of Australian Artist ‘ Glen Gillard ~ Former President of The Royal Queensland Art Society Inc. Brisbane, Australia.

I have been a practicing artist since 1979.

My work shows tribal influences from my early childhood years living in Papua New Guinea. Some people also claim to have seen influences of Escher, Dali, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Poster Edge and Gothic styles. I am a  member of The Style File ‘An Australian Book Illustrators Showcase’ http://thestylefile.com and The New Australian Bookplate Society of NSW http://bookplatesociety.org.au. I specialise in illustration and ex-libris design, and I am currently studying the art of cartooning. Early into 2018, I find myself with exciting new projects, including the illustration of a delightful new Children’s Book of Poems by Mala Anthony-Ranu, Author of ‘The Indira Poems’.

I love Australian beaches, sunshine, swimming in the surf & my quiet times bush-walking and dreaming…..
